SPECIAL CATS FOR ADOPTION

TATER: Tater is one of those cats who is just all around awesome. He is friendly, affectionate and loves to explore. Tater thinks people are wonderful and loves to be held as well as sit on laps. Just seeing a person makes him purr. Tater is also very friendly with other cats and has made it his mission to convince some of the shyer cats to come out of their cages. Once they do, he just wants to play and rub heads. He is young, happy-go-lucky, and lots of fun!

SCRAPPY DOO: Scrappy Doo is a very low energy, laid back cat who loves to sit in laps. Although Scrappy Doo was a little shy when he first came to the shelter he loves to snuggle now that he knows he is safe. Scrappy Doo is one of the best lap cats you will ever meet; If you rub his face he'll roll around and curl himself up in the crook of your arm, all while purring enthusiastically. Scrappy Doo is still a little nervous of other cats because they beat him up when he lived on the streets. He would prefer a quiet home without a lot of other animals. In return he will be more than happy to provide you with three cats worth of snuggling!

RUSTY: Rusty is a beautiful, slightly lazy tiger cat looking for his very own person to love. He's more interested in napping than playing but always perks up when there is someone around to pet him. Rusty likes to sit on laps and love having his face rubbed. So far He is still a little nervous around other cats, but he seems to do well with kids and dogs. To meet Rusty please stop by the main shelter.






BOWZER Everyone who has ever met Bowzer loves him. He is a gorgeous cat with the personality of a dog. He loves to be held, will put his paws on your shoulders to give you a kitty cat hug and rub his head under your chin. When he isn't snuggling, Bowzer loves to play with other cats and chase his toys. He has lots of playful energy and would be a great companion for another cat or an enthusiastic mouser. He'd also be great in a house with kids and dogs. If you want an outgoing, affectionate kitty Bowser is the cat for you!

ESQUIRE: Esquire is silly, playful and fun. He loves to cause mischief, play with toys, wrestle with other cats and explore new places. Esquire gets along especially well with Bowzer and loves to play kitty cat hide and seek with him. When he is not playing, Esquire likes to be held and carried through the halls of the shelter so he can meet new people. He is very friendly and genuinely likes to be held. If you want a fun loving kitty to keep you entertained please come meet Esquire!

WIZZARD: Wizzard is the very definition of a lap cat. He loves nothing more than to sit in your lap, purring away. In fact if you aren't sitting down, Wizzard will meow and chirp until make a lap for him. He is also bound and determined to make friends with all the cats he meets, even when they hiss at him. Wizzard has so much love to give he simply can't believe that another cat wouldn't love him back! His foster Mom reports that despite Wizzard's difficult start to life he was very well behaved at her house and had perfect kitty manners. To meet Wizzard please stop by the main shelter!

Archie (aka Disco) in His New Adopted Home

Enclosed is a short video and a couple of pictures of Archie, the kitty formerly known as Disco, to be passed onto his foster mom.

He is getting along just swimmingly with the other cats in the house, though the female doesn’t seem to think much of him.

She hisses at him if he walks too closely by her, but she hissed at Bird (one of the males) for the first two years that they lived together and now she licks and loves on him. So, it is just a matter of time.

Archie and Mouse have begun playing with each other. Archie is exploring the house, and is a bit slow going up and down the steps.

This weekend we are going to build him a little ramp to go up and down the stairs, complete with carpet so he has something to grip onto.

Our chocolate lab doesn’t understand that the cats are not 80 pound dogs, so we have been working with him for the past two months on calming him down with the cats.

This is of utter importance now with Archie since he doesn’t seem to be able to run when he gets scared (it is as if his little back legs just don’t want to cooperate).

We have a gate up that separates the cats and dog, but it has a cat door within it that allows the cats to walk through but not the dog.

We think he might have cerebellar hypoplasia, and have a vet appointment for him tomorrow to find out for sure. We just love him to death already and are so thrilled to have him in our home!

Taj and Lily are both special kitties with only 3 legs each. But, you would never know that to see them. They live and act just like any other cats. These 2 kitties were both adopted from the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and live very happily with a dog, which was also adopted from the CASPCA. Taj was formerly known as Rowe. Poor Princess Grace. She is very sad and upset to be at Purrin' at Pantops, the satellite cat shelter for the CASPCA.

Princess Grace was an only cat for 8 years when her owner passed away.

We are trying very hard to find her a good, quiet home. So far, we have been unsuccessful.

Most of the time Princess Grace is hiding in the kitchen in the cabinets.

I stop by to see her every day and give her some chicken breast. She is very shy and growls a lot. I believe when she is in a quiet home and gets settled, she will be back to her old self in no time.
I am sure her former owner is looking down as if to say:

"Hang in there, Princess Grace, and Purrin' at Pantops will find you a good home, my forever little girl."

Rowe (now Taj) Kitty with a missing leg finds a good home.

THIS IS TAJ (FORMERLY KNOWN AS ROWE) AND LILY AT ROWE'S NEW HOME.

LILY IS ANOTHER CASPCA ADOPTED 3-LEGGED KITTY, AND BOTH CATS SHARE THEIR HOME WITH THEIR MOM AND A CASPCA ADOPTED DOG.

Rowe was found by a Good Samaritan ... he had been hit by a car and had to have one of his rear legs amputated. That does not stop Rowe. He is a good natured, friendly and social boy who loves people and attention. He will gaze ever so sweetly into your eyes as if to say, Please take me home ... I will love you forever. Rowe's dream did become a reality when he was introduced by his foster mom to his new mom, and it was love at first sight!

Rowe received postoperative care in the recovery room at the shelter and then was in foster care when he was adopted by his new family.

Special thanks to the foster family of Rowe and to the special Cat Care Team at the CASPCA who cared for Rowe. He received excellent care.

His foster mommy also did a great job introducing him to his new family.

Dear Santa Claus,

I had a very bad accident this year, and I lost my front right leg. The nice people at the CASPCA saved me even though my leg had to be amputated.

Although I had this terrible accident, I have been a very good kitty this year. I have even been called a little angel! I know you will find my name on your "nice" list. I am really good at getting along with the other kitties, love to kneed and purr and I always use my litter box.

What I would like the very most this year for Christmas is to be ADOPTED INTO A GOOD AND LOVING HOME!

And, if it's not too much trouble, Dear Santa Claus, I'd also appreciate the following: a new blanket, Fancy Feast canned food,$$$ help to pay my big doctor bill, Kitty play toys, and a Cardboard Super Scratcher for my claws.
