Weekend Cat Blogging 65
Darlin' Darla and I would like to thank everyone for sending their links in for WCB 65.
We miss Clare from Eat Stuff, but have not heard anything from her. Hope you are okay, Clare. Weekend Cat Blogging is Clare's, and we thank her for this opportunity to cat blog.
We had Hurricane Ernesto pass through our area yesterday. Lucky for us, no problems. Today, it is beautiful here in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Here is the round-up for this weekend:
To begin WCB65
- At Miss Ellie's Page please check out the 4 photos of Darlin' Darla, a full-blooded, declawed Himalayan kitty, who needs a home at http://misselliespage.blogspot.com/2006/09/darlin-darla-pure-bred-himalayan-22020.html Anyone interested?
- Next at ScamperDude are Feline Foster Mom, Ellen, and the baby brother & sister kittens she is fostering. There are 2 entries: http://scamperdude.blogspot.com/2006/08/then-and-now-foster-kitten-22013.html and http://scamperdude.blogspot.com/2006/08/then-and-now-foster-kitten-22014.html See their very first photos at only 3 ounces and 4 ounces and see them now at 1 pound thanks to Ellen's excellent fostering. Anyone interested in adopting them?
- See Bustopher who looks a bit like ScamperDude and is also living a terrific life now, but loves to taste his food (again and again), and Harmon who is sunbathing on the kitty hammock at Kate in the Kitchen at http://cooknkate.wordpress.com/2006/09/02/wcb-hows-that-food-tasting/
- From the House of the (Mostly) Black Cats, I think that kitty better wake up and run, run, run. http://catsnmom.blogspot.com/2006/09/no-way.html
- Upsie has mom at What Did You Eat worried and saying, "Where have you been?" http://whatdidyoueat.typepad.com/what_did_you_eat/2006/09/wcb_whats_the_b.html Not to worry though, Upsie is looking enchanting, as usual, among the flowers.
- Jelly Pizza had her worries with Hurricane Ernesto too. Check out Taboo resting beside the computer and hoping the storm will pass through at http://jellypizza.blogspot.com/2006/08/if-i-ever-needed-ark-7-rain.html We hope you are both okay.
- From Farm Girl see "New Cat" in Daily Farm Photo: 9/2/06 at http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/2006/09/daily-farm-photo-9206.html and then see "New Cat" before at http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/2006/03/weekend-cat-blogging-40.html That is one beautiful "New Cat".
- Lisa from Champaign Taste says Louis is dining al fresco and wants to know "Where is the tuna in the salad nicoise?" http://champaign-taste.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-lunch-al-fresco.html
- Rosa sends us King "Kiki Der Dritte" who has reached nirvana at http://rosas-yummy-yums.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-65.html
- Bloggers, you must see Rufus, a bobcat, and he is the "King of the Jungle" with his friend Mattie, the yellow labrador retriever, at My Bountiful Diary. Rufus returns this week-click on the link to see the neat photos http://belgazou.typepad.com/my_bountiful_diary/2006/09/weekend_cat_blo.html We are glad to have you with us, Eleanor, and hope you will blog again next week.
- Boo at Masak-Masak shows her grey and white kitty at http://masak-masak.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-wcb-65.html who is sleeping and enjoying a peaceful moment and recovering from his recent injury on the one side of his face. Did he need to wear the Elizabethan Collar to prevent him from itching his wound?
- Here is another post from Feline Foster Mom Ellen who has to say goodbye to 5 of her foster kittens: Chip, Pippa, Kona, Mocha, and BonBon, so she can devote all her energy to raising the newest of her baby foster kittens who require full-time attention and care. So sorry for you, Ellen. It is s-o-o-o-o hard to say good-bye to those you love. They are all at the window on the ScamperDude Blog Page at http://scamperdude.blogspot.com/2006/09/5-bears-foster-kittens-off-to-school.html
- Once again, as every week since I first found Kamikaze, I present Jelly of I Got 2 Shoes holding the enormous big boy. He is what we would call "A Handful" of cat that is! http://igot2shoes.blogspot.com/2006/09/wcb-65-naptime.html Please see my Blog page for more pictures from Jelly's Blog of the big Kamikaze at http://misselliespage.blogspot.com/2006/08/kamikaze-biggest-black-ninja-sumo.html
- Next from Cindy in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia we have Bella who is sunbathing. What a beauty! They are having springtime there, so my mistake it is not "Indian Summer", as they are moving towards summertime not autumn. Enjoy your weather. It is very nice here today as well. See "A Few of My Favourite Things!" at http://fewofmyfavourites.blogspot.com/2006/09/wcb-65-soaking-up-sun.html
- If you love videos, here is one of Tiggy and her Red Fluffy!!! (toy that is) presented by ChefSarahJane at sweetsarahj.blogspot. There is a Chupbacabra creature hanging around in Sara's backyard!!! Oh, No!!! Please see http://chefsarahjane.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-65.html and also http://sweetsarahj.blogspot.com/2006/09/chupacabra-has-name_02.html. We have a lot of those types of Chupbacabra creatures here, which are native to Virginia.
- Kaji's Mom at A Transition to Vegan shows us Molly with a very expressive face, see http://kajismom.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-molly.html Her dog Kaji and her kitty Molly say no to vegan for them, but fine for their mommy. (smile).
- Cate from Sweetnicks Food & Life sends a picture of Calli the beautiful Calico with her new lovely blanket, which shows off Calli's Autumn colors at http://sweetnicks.blogspot.com/2006/09/comfort-food.html Do try the Smashed Potatoes Recipe courtesy of Rachael Ray. It sounds yummy. I do love watching Rachael Ray on TV.
- Kitchen Mage shows us her kitten at 4 months old who is still "Tied to his mom's apron strings". She won't allow that for much longer! Those are 2 beautiful cats! Is the kitten the one you named fluffThing? See http://blog.kitchenmage.com/2006/09/wcb_some_babies.html
- What great photography! These photos are almost identical after one year's time. See Luna the cat, from CatSynth Blog Page, then-August-one year ago and now-August 2006-featuring stained glass window sunlight at http://www.ptank.com/catsynth/index.php?entry=entry060903-101903 Luna has filled out a little, but looks about the same as one year ago. She looks like my kitten Little Al.
- Kevin at Seriously Good Blog Spot sends us a photo of Sweet Thing, a beautiful Torti kitty, at http://seriouslygood.kdweeks.com/2006/09/sweetthing.html Yes, I do believe we can see how she got her "Sweet" name!
- Riana from Southern France and These Days in French Life Blog Spot sends a photo of her kitty, Lucky, in the baby crib again, and looking S-O-O-O cute at http://frenchtoastfrance.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-bad-cat-blogging.html Dear Riana, hope you are feeling well through this pregnancy and everything goes smoothly. Lucky and Igor will keep one another company when they are finally together.
- Please meet Mandy and Devon submitted by Annika at Annikafox's xanga site, who has recently fostered these two kittens that are available for adoption. The little female, Mandy, loves to play and play, and the little male, Devon, who was a little shy at first, is now also playing and is a lap kitty with a purr motor. Please see http://www.xanga.com/Annikafox/521869543/item.html
- Lisa from Restaurant Widow sends us a picture of Ike and Abe, 2 Not-So-Tiny tuxedo cats napping at http://www.restaurantwidow.com/2006/09/weekend_cat_blo.html. Are they excited about the Opening Day College Football Game? On a serious note - please see last week's entry from Lisa about the Himalayan momma cat, Fluffernutter, and her 2 "Tinies" kittens that are strays and need homes. http://www.restaurantwidow.com/2006/08/wcb_64_good_pic.html Remember how cute they are? If you live in Lisa's area, please considering adopting them.
- Tina from A Blip on the Radar Blog Page sends us a photo of Mr. Neelix, whom I might say looks like Mr. Fluff Puff (so handsome). He is enjoying the backyard, but soon, due to the weather, will be back staying inside the house. What a comfortable addition to your home through the winter months. http://ablipontheradar.blogspot.com/2006/09/weekend-cat-blogging-65.html
- We have Stephen from StephenCooks Blog Page sending a photo of Betty, a beautiful Torti kitty with big expressive eyes. Betty is AKA "Boopster", "Betty-goo" and "The Secretary of Homeland Security". Betty looks to be doing a good job of "securing" her rightful place at the household table. http://www.stephencooks.com/2006/09/betty_at_table.html
- Here is a photo of the beautiful Dutchess, one of the 2 cats, from Ramona at Kross-Eyed Kitty Blog Page. The other one not pictured this week is Mao the cross-eyed Siamese kitty. The humans of the 2 cats are still house-hunting after returning from a long weekend at their trailer. They also had Hurricane Ernesto pass through their area. Glad they and we did not sustain any damage.
Hope to see and read all of your Cat Blogs next weekend. Thank you all for your excellent cat blogs this week. We really had a great assortment of Kitty WCB's this weekend. Thanks everyone.
That seems to be about it for this long holiday weekend in the United States. I very much enjoyed hosting WCB #65.
Hope we hear from Clare of Eat Stuff soon. If Clare does not come back next weekend, does anyone want to do the hosting and the round-up for WCB #66?

Fruffle, aka "the huge baby," seems to have forgotten that he's been eating solid food for about 3/4 of his life...

Here is my cat "Silly" taken the day Ernesto passed through. We took a tree on the house, so Silly was not impressed when it fell overhead where she was sleeping.
