Rescued kitten, Skippy, returns to Purrin' on Tuesday. (Please see the story below.)
Purrin' - 6/4/06, Story by Jan
A lady from the Lazy Parrot Restaurant comes in and asks us if we have lost a cat? We ask what color and she says grey...so we dash out and over there and finally see the grey cat...it is like a 4 week old kitten who was so scared...it ran across the parking lot and up into the motor of a man's big ol' pick me up truck. What an adventure!Four of us...Kellyn, Kellyn's Mom Bonnie, the man who owned the truck and myself all crawled under this truck. It was an hour before it was located. People kept meowing and when you are under a truck trying to find a kitten that is stuck up in there somewhere, we did not know if it was the kitten or the people on the "parade" sidelines meowing. I hope that there was no video taken of this...because they are surely going to call us crazy cat people. The man who owned the truck finally got his hand on the kitten who of course, bit him. Kellyn was able to scruff it and had the carrier under the truck to put the kitten right in. The little kitten was so terribly scared. We put it in the small bathroom in the back in a large carrier. NO ONE is to mess with this kitten. We will get it to the shelter in the morning and when it is ready, bring it back to Pantops for adoption. WE EARNED THAT RIGHT! Skippy has been in foster care and will be returning to Purrin' on Tuesday.
